Pharmacy and dispensing is an often overlooked subject. It is only too easy to assume that "Oh yes, it's OK to re-dispense those tablets since the client has had them before." I know how easy it is to give in to a persistent client who demands medication but does not want to fork out for a consultation!
Just remember that the laws governing our pharmacy are not obstructive, as I'm sure a few clients would like you to believe. The aim of the veterinary practice is to provide the best professional opinion possible and these laws help us to achieve just that.
