Having completed this chapter in conjunction with the other related subjects as recommended in the introduction and learning objectives section, you should now be confident in the subject of infectious diseases. You will notice (especially if you have been working through the revision guide in the order in which the chapters are printed), that there is a now quite a large amount of overlap between topics. Always refer back to previous chapters and modules of the book if you feel that you require additional revision. It has been my aim to provide fresh information within each subject rather than repeat myself too much. A certain amount of repetition is great for revision - so you will find a few familiar questions (but never exactly the same - so be careful!). References to earlier material are provided whenever appropriate.
