Job Description

Animal Trust has a mission to provide the best access to good veterinary care. We have a vision to be a network of hospitals accessible to pet owners who earn the real living wage.  Already providing care to over fifty-thousand patients every year, we are one of the fastest-growing veterinary organisations in the country.

Site specifics

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Nurse at the Dewsbury surgery. The surgery includes 8 consulting rooms and 2 operating theatres and is fast-paced and exciting, meaning the caseload changes on a daily basis. The surgery operates 7 days a week and provides a 24/7 inpatient care service.

As we move towards universal nurse-led patient care by 2021, to be successful in this role you’ll be confident in your blood sampling ability, IV placement, pre and post-operative care and anaesthesia. There will also be opportunities to assist with advanced ultrasound, X-ray, and CT scanning.  Above all, it’s important that you’re a real team player that has a social heart and you’ll be passionate about delivering exceptional care to animals.

Our surgeries are well-equipped with the latest technology, and in-house laboratories meaning there is no need for us to refer patients and you can be proud of your working environment.

Core Skills

We’re looking for our new Nurse to be experienced in their field as well as bringing with them a social heart and a refreshing attitude as we all work together to shape the future of veterinary care. It’s essential that you share our vision for developing a not-for-profit service that continues to deliver good, affordable care to our patients.

Above all, it’s important that you’re a real team player that has a social heart and you’ll be passionate about delivering exceptional care to animals.

At Animal Trust we’re here to offer something different and we operate a flat management structure. By joining us you’ll be welcomed into our community and encouraged to share your opinions and ideas as we continue to work towards providing the best access to good veterinary care.

We understand that the job can be stressful and so we make your wellbeing a priority. As part of our team, you’ll receive regular 1-1 meetings with your line manager to not only monitor your clinical progress and skill development but also to discuss any challenges that you face in your wellbeing.

Above all, it’s important to us that you’re a real team player who thrives from working in a busy surgery and a can-do attitude that will embrace new ideas is also essential. Everyone who joins us must have the ability to provide the best care to every pet they treat and owner that they meet.
