Holmefield Veterinary Clinic have a vacancy for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. We aim to create a work/life balance that suits your lifestyle and this is reflected in our flexible rota. We enjoy working collaboratively as a team to ensure the best standards of care for our patients and clients. Our nursing team consists of one head nurse, eight RVN’s, one student nurse and one animal care assistant. This role will entail all aspects of nursing duties including consultations, surgical nursing and pharmacy duties.

The full time position is 40 hrs per week working over four or five days. The Saturday rota is 1 in 5 8:30-1:30 and we have no out of hours.

Find a place to excel

At the main site in Brayton we have access to modern, reliable, and well-maintained equipment including digital x-ray, a brand-new ultrasound suitable for both abdominal and cardiac scans, companion -laser, multiparameter monitoring machine and doppler blood pressure. We have separate species wards and are proud to be a cat friendly clinic. We also have a separate bereavement room to ensure a pet’s final visit is as peaceful as possible. The practice was refurbished recently and is beautifully light and airy with a huge staff room. At the Sherburn branch practice we undertake consults and routine surgery, and staff enjoy working at this smaller practice from time to time and building close relationships with the clients. Patient safety is a priority, and all brachycephalic breeds or higher risk patients undergo anaesthetics and surgeries at the main hospital to ensure sufficient staffing levels during the post-operative period.

Meet like-minded professionals

There is no doubt that our biggest strength is our incredible team. You will be joining an experienced, talented and friendly team who pride themselves on having a positive and inclusive culture. Communication is prioritised here, with regular team meetings, full practice meetings and opportunities to discuss cases to ensure everyone feels included, empowered, and heard. We actively encourage and support staff wishing to undertake further training and as such have an ECC Cert nurse, ISFM cert nurse and a nurse working towards a behaviour cert. We also have a receptionist who has completed a bereavement diploma and offers support to clients who are saying goodbye to their pets.

What we’re looking for in you

The perfect fit for our team will be an enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for client care. You will enjoy working within a close-knit team and be keen to continue to develop your skills whilst sharing your unique experiences with us, to allow us all to learn from each other.
