RVN required at Midland Veterinary Surgery - Leyton, London.
We are looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to come and join our team to support our head nurse in leading our team of nurses to run anaesthetics, nurse consults and develop new areas of interest such as nutrition and feline friendly practice status. An interest in teaching would be fantastic as we are a training practice.
The position is for a 40-hour week spread over 4-5 weekdays. Late finishes are 7.30pm and early starts are 7.45am with flexibility to the rota. Very limited Saturday shifts (8am-2.30pm) to occasionally cover holiday. No Sundays or OOH. The role involves some reception work, but we are keen to limit this so that nurses just nurse.
Salary range is £23,000 to £28,000 depending on experience.
Midland Vets is a 3.5 vet practice based in Leyton, East London. We have 4 Veterinary Nurses (1 full-time, 3 part-time), and two VCA's working towards being able to start their nurse training next year. We are a friendly, family-orientated team that provide service to a loyal client base as part of a close-knit community. Our practice is equipped with a digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound and in-house bloods. We are very enthusiastic to extend and expand the nurse consultations we provide, and welcome anyone with an interest in developing these with us. In the last two years we have been focusing our efforts on preventative care, and are now looking towards a focus on nutrition going forward that could be a great opportunity for our new candidate to be involved in.
Emma the Clinical Director values work life balance. The practice aims to get team members out of the door on time and never missing lunch. Emma has an open door policy and is keen to hear ways to improve the service provided to patients and how to make things work better for staff. She is enthusiastic about further learning and always keen to support an individual’s passions.
We welcome any Qualified Veterinary Nurse to apply to join our team. Experience in nurse consultations and working to improve nursing standards and skills would be important to us. We would especially love to hear from nurses with an interest in building client relationships, in preventative care and in the importance of good nutrition.
Benefits (Subject to pro rata)
As a Disability Confident Employer we are keen to hear from candidates with disabilities and long term health conditions, and would be happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments needed during the recruitment process.
