Part Time Neurology & Rehab RVN at the QMHA
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the Neurology and Rehabilitation nursing team at The Queen Mother Hospital for Small Animals. This position is ideal for an RVN keen to develop their nursing career and specialise in all disciplines of Neurology and Rehabilitation nursing, you can expect:
-Hands on nursing of various neurological conditions within the ward
-Training and support in physiotherapy techniques alongside our team of physiotherapists
-Rehabilitation of post-operative patients
-Hydrotherapy
-Triage of neurology cases
You will work within our friendly multidisciplinary referral hospital alongside specialist clinicians, RVNs, residents, interns, and students and be involved in nursing a range of interesting and challenging cases on the ward.
Our rehabilitation service includes a purpose-built hydrotherapy centre which houses a pool and underwater treadmill. If you do not already hold a Level 3 Certificate in Canine Hydrotherapy, you will be required to study and complete this training (typically approx. 6-month duration) which will be fully funded. You will therefore have the opportunity to develop your skills in this area alongside other experienced Hydrotherapists within the service.
This position is part time (28 hours per week), Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with 1:4 weekends. Shifts are varied (e.g.- 8am-4pm, 3pm-11pm), including some nights on a rota.
Referral nursing experience is not essential as training and support will be provided. Ideally you will be a clinical coach/supervisor, however this is not essential, and training will be provided after an extended induction period.
