Job Description

This is a 35 hour week (includes 1 Saturday, 10am to 2pm, in 4) with no OOH or nights but there is possible overtime of 5 hours maximum per week. There is 28 days Paid holiday entitlement (to include Bank Holidays)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with ideally 2 to 3 years experience to join and lead our veterinary team of 1 Trainee, 2 Assistants, 2 Receptionists and three Vets. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients, supporting veterinarians, and ensuring the wellbeing of clients and their pets. The practice is a small animals and Exotic practice with a Referral service in Ophthalmology

We are an Independent, family run, single site practice (established 1985) that is ideally situated on the Essex/London as a border close to M25 with good rail links to London (on the Elizabeth line) yet walking distance to countryside.

Duties:- Assisting veterinarians during consultations, surgeries, and procedures with clinical support and preparation of equipment, Monitoring anaesthetic and post-operative recovery of animals,  Undertaking Dental procedures Assisting in imaging (Radiography, Ultrasonography);  Performing laboratory tests, analysing samples, and maintaining accurate records; Providing pre- and post-operative care to patients, including wound management and feeding;  Supporting clients with pet health advice and education on animal care; Training of junior staff, including becoming a Clinical Couch;  Managing inventory of medical supplies and ensuring equipment is sterilised and ready for use

Skills :- Proven veterinary experience with a strong understanding of monitoring anaesthesia and patient recovery; Laboratory experience to assist with diagnostic testing and sample analysis; Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, including organising staff rotas; Compassionate approach towards animals and their owners, demonstrating empathy and professionalism; Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, colleagues, and external laboratories; Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail
