Registered Veterinary Nurse required at Ark Vets, Galway
The Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the Ark Vets team. Our nursing roles are very varied, from inpatient care through to assisting with surgery, monitoring of anaesthesia, assisting the consulting veterinary practitioners, client care and reception, nurse clinics, there really is 'something for everyone'. Some of our nurses have earned postgraduate qualifications and have more specialised roles, for example, in rehabilitation. There are opportunities to develop for enthusiastic applicants! Working hours and shifts detailed below.
Ark Vets Knocknacarra is a small animal, 7-vet practice, offering both first opinion and referral services to local clients and referring vets. Radiography, Blood Biochemistry and Haematology, Ultrasound, Orthopaedic Surgery and all the equipment necessary to provide high-quality nursing care are available. Three of our vets hold Certificates, in Small Animal Medicine, Small Animal Surgery and in Emergency and Critical Care. One of our nurses has a Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy. All of our staff take an active interest in continuing personal development. We pride ourselves on offering the highest standard of care possible at all times ensuring that regardless of the problem, our clients feel that we have done our best. While we work hard, we also make time for tea and coffees! The practice team get on well socially outside of work too. We assist local organisations as best we can, in particular MADRA dog rescue, the GSPCA, Galway Cat Rescue, the Galway Swan Rescue and others.
The successful applicant will be a qualified Veterinary Nurse, registered or eligible to register, with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI). While experienced candidates are preferred, we will consider newly qualified Veterinary Nurses also.
