Shelton Lock is a busy first opinion practice, which also incorporates Blue Cross charity work as well as training vet students from Nottingham Vet School. It is a modern well equipped practice with theatre, imaging and lab facilities, as well as 2 spacious consulting rooms and separate dog and cat wards. You will be supported by a vet, kennel assistant and CCA team as well as working alongside the Vet school’s rotation of tutors and students.
As a business we take pride in providing outstanding pet healthcare and this role enables us to do this at a local level in the community. This role will involve general nursing duties as well as stock control and maintenance/promotion of the practice as the sole nurse. We welcome applicants to this position who want to bring their interests into the practice and develop our services offered. This is a full time role of 41.5 hours per week with one Saturday morning in 4 weeks to work. OOH work is covered at our hospital on Pride Park.
Required skills and experience include nurse clinic knowledge, excellent organisational skills and driving licence and own transport. Would be good to have specialist clinic knowledge, interest in nutrition, weight management, preventative healthcare, experience of lone working within a practice – able to make own decisions, initiatives etc and stock control/ordering.
