RVN for 24/7 hospital Ellesmere Port - Exciting social enterprise

Job Description

Animal Trust has a mission to provide the best access to good veterinary care. We have the vision to be a network of hospitals accessible to pet owners who earn the real living wage.  Already providing care to over fifty-thousand patients every year, we are one of the fastest-growing veterinary organisations in the country.

Site specifics

Our Ellesmere Port 24/7 hospital is fast-paced and the case-load changes at a rapid rate, meaning this is a fantastic opportunity for nurses who are looking for exposure to a mixture of routine cases, inpatients and emergencies that will help you to continually develop your skills and capabilities.

As we move towards universal nurse-led patient care by 2021, to be successful in this role you’ll be confident in your blood sampling ability, IV placement, pre and post-operative care and anaesthesia. There will also be opportunities to assist with advanced ultrasound, X-ray, and CT scanning.  Above all, it’s important that you’re a real team player that has a social heart and you’ll be passionate about delivering exceptional care to animals.

Our surgeries are well-equipped with the latest technology, and in-house laboratories meaning there is no need for us to refer patients and you can be proud of your working environment.

Core Skills

We’re looking for our new Nurse to be experienced in their field as well as bringing with them a social heart and a refreshing attitude as we all work together to shape the future of veterinary care. It’s essential that you share our vision for developing a not-for-profit service that continues to deliver good, affordable care to our patients.

  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Access to counseling support including mental health, financial and life counseling after 12 months of service
  • Varied and challenging career
  • The satisfaction of working with a not-for-profit employer
