Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team here at Okeford Veterinary Centre.

Working alongside 4 other RVNs, 2 SVNs, 2 PCAs and 10 Veterinary Surgeons, including certificate holders in surgery, medicine and dermatology, this role offers a varied caseload.

We are looking for someone who is confident in all aspects of nursing, to include theatre practice and anaesthesia, nurse consultations and some inpatient care. There will also be the opportunity to support referral dermatology clinics and develop any interests in practice.

We take pride in our relationship with clients and our patient care, and you will play a key role in maintaining this. You should be able to communicate and work well as part of a team.

The ideal candidate would also already be a Clinical Supervisor or willing to undertake the Clinical Supervisor training to support our students in practice.

We are happy to receive applications from both part-time and full-time candidates. Participation in the Saturday rota is required (currently 1:6) with no bank holidays or OOHs. A clean driving license is also required as you may be required to work at our branch practice in Chagford.

Our standard benefits include:

  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (or equivalent) with our Buy/Sell holiday scheme - allowing you to purchase an additional two weeks of annual leave
  • Generously encouraged and fully funded CPD – abundant opportunities within the business aided by internal and external development courses and programmes
  • Receive an extra days leave each year in your first 5 years at CVS
  • Cycle to work scheme and subsidised gym membership
  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption pay
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Pension scheme – automatic enrolment and completely hassle free
  • Access to First Aid for Mental Health and Wellbeing Champions across CVS and 300 trained CVS colleagues in this role
  • Colleague discount on pet products and treatments including free consults, cost price drugs and a discount to our online pharmacy, Animed.
  • Access to the company share-save scheme
