Opportunities for Question Writers - veterinary nursing and animal-related industries

Part time / occasional work – remote working.

Central Qualifications (CQ) is an Ofqual recognised awarding organisation providing vocational qualifications for the veterinary and animal-related industries.

We provide a range of Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications designed to meet industry standards and employers’ requirements.

We are currently seeking additional experienced veterinary nurses or veterinary surgeons as question writers for all qualifications, including multiple choice and short answer questions.

The role of the question writer is to:

• generate high quality questions as directed by the co-ordinator
• questions may be multiple choice or short answer questions depending on the requirement
• prepare the questions or items with answer keys as specified by CQ, according to the syllabus specification and item writer guidelines, ensuring the level of difficulty is appropriate for the qualification and fits the specification
• provide full details of source material used
• submit the material to CQ within an agreed time-scale and using the format required
• if required send a revised version of the material to CQ following feedback from a senior consultant

Essential criteria

• subject specialist - veterinary nursing /animal related industry
• professional qualification relating to the sector area – RVN / MRCVS
• question writing experience preferred but not essential

This is an employed casual position and payment is made for each accepted question once it has passed the scrutineering phases.
