Head Nurse required at Biscot Mill Vet Centre
We are looking for a skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse to take the lead role as Head Veterinary Nurse at our Biscot Mill surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee the smooth running of the clinical day. Our Head Nurse will play a pivotal role between nurses, vets, and the administration team; working closely with the Clinical Director and Practice Manager to deliver an outstanding service to our clients. The duties include but are not limited to general nursing duties, rota, and diary management, leading the growth and increased utilisation of our nurse clinics, supporting the rest of the management team, being involved in HR aspects, stock control and ordering, managing servicing, and repairs of clinical equipment.This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with the possibility of working a 4.5- or 5-day week shift pattern which will involve early and late shifts. Our OOH is covered by VetsNow.
We are a friendly, long-established small animal practice that has been caring for Luton's Pets for over 40 years. Our practice is RCVS accredited and has a recently refurbished dental suite alongside digital x-ray and dedicated theatre areas. We have large consulting rooms and a bright and airy reception area. There are great train links into London (40 Min), and we are also only 10 minutes from Luton airport.
Our friendly team consists of 5 vets (1 certificate holder), 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Animal Nursing Assistants and 1 Student Nurse, all supported by our team of 5 Receptionists. Our team is passionate about providing an excellent standard of care to our clients and their pets. We have a small friendly team who love to socialise and always enjoy our practice outings.
Our ideal candidate will be a passionate and confident nurse – registered with the RCVS.
