-Taking TPRs of inpatients and accurately recording these on their treatment sheets. -Cleaning and sterilizing surgical equipment. -Maintaining prep room, feline; canine and isolation wards as well as consulting rooms. -Deep cleaning feline, canine; isolation wards as well as theatres. -Assisting nurses by restraining a range of animals and raising the cephalic vein. Correctly setting up a drip and giving set for intravenous fluid therapy. -Stimulating neonates after a cesarean in order to get them to respire. -Disposing of cadavers and placing them in the correct cremation bag (communal or private). -Setting up anaesthetic machines ready for operations and preparing theatre with kits, drapes etc. -Correctly disposing of recyclables, clinical waste, sharps, domestic waste and glass vyles. -Remove items from stock on Vetspace when they are used in the hospital, such as: HiBiScrub, cotton wool, syringes and needles etc. -Hand rearing neonates and continuing barrier nursing protocols with infectious or zoonotic cases. -Monitoring cranial nerve reflexes and vitals of animals under anaesthetic with nurse supervision . -Conducting nail clips on cats and dogs. -Conducting health checks and educating clients on the 5 animal welfare needs, diet and preventative treatments.
