In light of the current circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and the impact this may have on RVNs working in practice, the BVNA has made the decision to alter the course requirements of the Oral Care Nurse Certificate.

We previously stipulated that registrants must “be working in practice or able to visit a practice” in order to complete the course. However, in order to ensure delegates are not disadvantaged by any current restrictions on their working, we have altered the course delivery accordingly for the 2020 Oral Care Nurse cohort. This means you will still receive the same CPD hours and great quality content, without the need to be working in practice. Therefore, all course requirements can now be completed from home. You will still also have access to all the same resources, so you can benefit from the practical elements of the course at a later date.

For any delegates who have already registered on the Oral Care Nurse Certificate – please continue to complete the course from your current stage of progress. If you have already completed any of the practical course elements – brilliant! This is still a great contribution towards your CPD. However, if you are no longer able to complete any remaining practical activities, you will not be required to do so in order to receive your certificate.

Not registered yet? If you have previously considered completing the Oral Care Nurse Certificate but your working or caseload has now been restricted, or you have not been eligible due to working outside of practice – this is also a great time to enrol! We will continue to accept new registrations right up until 2 weeks before the course close date of 31st July 2020.
