Job Description

Registered Veterinary Nurse required for Ayrton veterinary Hospital in Whitburn, West Lothian.

About the practice:

Located between the cultural and historical cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, Ayrton Veterinary Hospital is a beautiful, light, purpose-designed spacious place to work.

We have great colleagues and full VNA support. We are a registered Training Practice, well equipped with digital x-ray, the latest laboratory equipment, sevofluorane & Humphrey ADE anaesthesia.

We are passionate about raising clinical standards and providing excellent service - our culture is one of continuous improvement.

About the role:

Our nursing team is fully utilised to their potential. The role includes:

  • Prep/theatre patient involvement (e.g. IV placement in all patients, patient induction under direction, blood taking, laboratory work, radiography, dentistry, surgery assist)
  • Designated ward rotation for improved in-patient care
  • Consultation RVN clinics

You’ll work 37.5 hrs per week (Mon-Fri) on a rota basis (Wards, Theatre, Prep) covering hours 8am until 7pm, plus 1 night on-call per week & 1:4/5 weekends

Applicant requirements:

We are looking for someone who shares our thinking and is an ambitious, compassionate, excellent communicator. Our next RVN will contribute to the continuing development of a young hospital and would be willing to undertake further study. Clinical coach training would be desirable but not essential.

We are offering the possibility of a senior/lead role for the right person.
