Great opportunity within supportive award-winning team
Would you like the opportunity to train as a veterinary nurse in a multi-award winning practice? If you join our 12-strong team, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking, RCVS-accredited, Gold Cat Friendly veterinary centre which is passionate about high standards, great customer service and supporting each other.
We are looking for the right candidate to initially work as a veterinary care assistant with progression on to RVN training in September 2019. Your role will include rotation on reception and building a strong bond with clients and pets as well as developing animal care and nursing skills.
You must be dedicated, hard-working, keen to learn, happy to work as part of a team and be flexible – and, of course, love animals as much as we do!
Some in-practice experience would be welcome, although this is not essential as full training will be given as you progress.
All training will be funded and you will be salaried, as well as receiving 4 weeks holiday (plus bank holidays), having a day off on your birthday, being part of our pension programme and having access to our other team benefits. And there are no out of hours – for any of us!
387 Veterinary Centre is an independent, small animal, single site veterinary practice located in South Staffordshire.
Everything we do is gauged at delivering high quality professional care for companion animals coupled with a personal service for their owners. This is one of the reasons 387 Veterinary Centre were winners of the prestigious Petplan Practice of the Year Award in 2017, with two of our team members also winning their own respective role categories. We were the first practice ever to scoop three of the five main awards on the same night in the 18 years of the event!
The practice is owned and run by Advanced Practitioner Hamish Duncan, and the team includes four highly qualified RVNs and three other veterinary surgeons, two with additional postgraduate qualifications. We actively support CPD and niche interests and invest in cutting-edge equipment to enable us to perform to the best of our ability and give best diagnostic and surgical service to our patients.
As well as developing individual clinical skills, we are also invested in team wellbeing. In 2017, we became the first vet practice in the UK to hold Platinum Investors in People Accreditation as well as being winners of an inaugural SPVS/ RCVS Mind Matters Wellbeing Award.
