Senior Vet Nurse opportunity; Advance your leadership and nursing skills

Job Description

The Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital is the first opinion small animal teaching hospital for the Royal Veterinary College, located within walking distance of Camden, Euston and Kings Cross Stations. Our clinic is patient focused, making animal welfare a top priority. We hold numerous gold standard accreditations including for rabbit and cat friendly practice and we promote low stress handling for all patients. We were also selected the winner of the Vet Wellbeing Awards ‘medium practice’ category 2019. Our progressive attitude towards veterinary care and the role of the veterinary nurse means we offer high standards of first opinion services and nurse led inpatient care.

We require a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our first opinion team. Working as a ward nurse you will use your nursing knowledge to oversee the inpatient and outpatient wards, delivering the best level of comprehensive care and customer service to our patients, clients and the veterinary community.  You will be responsible for a team of RVN’s and clinical support staff and act as a central contact for daily clinical operations in the Hospital in support of our Head Veterinary Nurse.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your leadership and nursing techniques and to deliver the best level of comprehensive care and customer service to our patients and clients, while providing positive and proactive support to vet and vet nurse students in a supportive learning environment. We also provide exotics referral services, so experience in working with exotic & small mammal patients would be an advantage. All team members will receive practical exotics training from our dedicated and experienced exotics team and our specialist Vets.

The successful applicant will have experience working in a veterinary hospital environment, strong customer service and communication skills, a strong understanding of infection control and experience with internal medicine nursing.  You will also demonstrate a proven ability to support clinical teams with daily patient care. Clinical Coach Accreditation is preferred.

Regular in- house training is provided in conjunction with access to external CPD and we offer a generous reward package.
