The Purpose of the Role
The provision of veterinary nursing services to patients and clients of vetPartners in line with practice standards and protocols and at all times work within the guidelines of the Veterinary Surgeons Act.
The Postholder will
Understand and implement the Practice’s business strategy, standard procedures and policies.
Undertake Schedule 3 duties as specified by a vet.
Undertake the admissions process for animals for hospitalisation including all administration and documentation.
Assist the veterinary surgeon with consultations and operations as required.
Undertake all duties with in-patients including feeding, exercising, drug administration, TPR’s in consultation with vets as appropriate.
Undertake the discharging process of animals including drugs and medicine.
Ensure that all clinical, consulting and animal care areas are kept clean and tidy at all times including sterilisation of instruments, floors and cupboards.
Ensure drugs and consumables are correctly stocked in clinical and consulting areas.
Participation in Nurse’s clinic which includes giving advice and guidance on routine matters eg second vaccinations, identichip, worming, neutering, grooming, training, exercise etc
Work in the dispensary as required including the stock control of drugs and medicines.
Assist with reception duties as required including telephone calls, correct client bills and cash receipts.
Undertake CPD as required.
Under Health & Safety at Work Act, whilst at work, you must take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of any other who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
Any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to your role.

Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing
OR Degree in Veterinary Nursing
