Job Description

Due to growth within our small but busy first-opinion surgery, we have an exciting opportunity in Hartlepool for a passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse or an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team. 

Position: Registered Veterinary Nurse or Head Veterinary Nurse
Location: Hartlepool Vets4Pets, TS25 1QF
Hours: Full Time 
Salary: Dependent on experience, to be discussed at interview. 

This is a full time role, between 38 – 40 hours per week, with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings only. There is no OOHs or on call requirements.  

You will be joining practice owners and Veterinary Surgeons, Kathryn Green and Joanne Ciavarella, along with their friendly team of 16, including 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse and 2 Veterinary Care Assistants. Our team here see a wide variety of caseloads, not just from cats and dogs but also the occasional small furry or wildlife from the local beaches.

Person Specification

You will need to be a dynamic and proactive nurse with solid all round clinical and management skills. The key to your success in this role will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the veterinary nurse role, including managing and supporting the busy nursing team.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Work closely with the wilder clinical and non-clinical teams to deliver timely and effective customer care
  • Lead and inspire the team of nursing colleagues to achieve their highest ability
  • Encourage on-going development and areas of suggest improvement, such as auditing for consults
  • Comply with Health and Safety Regulations as well as other local policies within the surgery
  • Some administration tasks such as rotas etc. and being aware of financial controls
  • Administer high level nursing care, offering advice and assistant to clients, completing full clinical notes

Previous experience is preferred and Clinical Coaching experience is beneficial but not essential.
