Friendly Independent Small Animal Practice

Job Description

Longmead Veterinary Practice is a friendly small animal practice. We have two main sites, in Shaftesbury, Dorset and Wincanton, Somerset, as well as a branch practice in Tisbury, Wiltshire. We are an RCVS Accredited Practice and Nurse Training Practice.

The practice has great facilities including digital X-Ray, Ultrasound scan, in-house laboratory and both rigid and flexible endoscopes, and we have high standards of inpatient and clinical care. We offer advanced procedures that include:

  • Orthopaedic surgery
  • Laparoscopic procedures
  • Endoscopic procedures
  • Soft tissue surgery.

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse and Second Year Student Veterinary Nurse  to join our happy, friendly team of six vets, seven RVN's and two SVN's, to support our continued growth at our Shaftesbury and Wincanton Practices. The position is full time (37 hours per week) plus participation in the Saturday morning and weekend/nights on-call rotas. Duties are varied between theatre, inpatient care and  nurse consultations. Benefits include:

  • Generous salary commensurate with experience
  • CPD encouraged and fully funded
  • Further qualifications actively encouraged
  • Clinical coach opportunity available
  • Annual RCVS fees paid
  • Contributory pension
  • 28 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays)

This is an exciting opportunity for a RVN or SVN to join our independent, forward thinking practice.
