Join our small friendly team in Bolton!
We are looking for a new team member at our small animal first opinion practice in Bolton, Greater Manchester. We are an independent practice with a growing client base who are loyal and compliant. We have a higher than average percentage of insured clients, which allows us to provide the best care and treatment to our patients.
Our ideal new member of staff will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse, however we are also happy to take applications from experienced ANA’s and VCA’s. You will be hard-working, motivated and understand the importance of a high standard of patient and client care. We aim to educate our clients on the benefits and importance of preventative medicine, so an interest in this is essential.
Our nurses currently have a varied working day which will include admitting/discharging patients, running bloods and other lab work, setting up and monitoring patients throughout GA and subsequent recovery, inpatient care and treatment. We also promote a variety of nurse clinics to our clients, including weight clinics, puppy/kitten progress checks and post op checks. We have the usual equipment you’d expect in a veterinary practice including blood machines, X-rays and ultrasound.
Our entire team partake in reception duties, which can make up as much as 50% of the working day. This will involve answering the telephone, booking appointments and taking payments, as well as dispensing and advising on medication. Being comfortable with this is a must, as well as being able to greet our clients and patients with a friendly face and a smile.
Our practice manager deals with our insurance claims and account admin, but being able to share this responsibility would be a bonus. Please specify if you are comfortable with this when applying.
Hours of work are 39.75 hours per week, with either early or late shifts Monday – Friday and 1 in 2 Saturday mornings. No OOH requirement. Salary and benefits would be dependent on experience, and include RCVS/VDS/BVNA fees paid. We actively encourage CPD and are happy to fund this, whilst also holding regular ‘lunch and learn’ sessions at the practice.
To apply, please email a CV and covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org or post to Nikki Knapp, Queens Park Veterinary Surgery, 74-76 Chorley New Road, Bolton, Greater Manchester, BL1 4BY.
