CLIENTS: Veterinary Practices including both independent and corporate organisations
ROLE: You will be responsible for promoting Photon Surgical Systems equipment and servicing to the veterinary profession by building strong business relationships by providing excellent levels of customer service.
REQUIREMENTS: RVN nurse or similar with at least 3 years in Practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Present, promote and sell our products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
  • Visit practices to promote and educate staff & customers on the benefits of the company's range of products and services, leading to sales
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
  • Manage and develop existing key accounts, build relations, as well as identify and develop new customer accounts
  • Reach out to potential customers through cold calling and lead follow up 
  • Provide educational support to practices in the form of demonstrations, training, presentations and CPD events
  • Achieve sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Represent the company at conferences and exhibitions throughout the UK
  • Analyse the territory/market's potential, track sales and status reports
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services


  • Veterinary nurse qualified or similar
  • Proven track record in a veterinary sales role would be desirable
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge and experience in the following areas is desirable: Anaesthesia, Dental, Laser, Monitoring, Ultrasound, X-ray
  • Be willing to continuously improve through feedback

Professional personal presentation and excellent communication skills are key to success in this role along with the ability to build strong relationships and quickly influence and gain customer loyalty.

  • Demonstrable interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with individuals, customer needs and groups at all levels
  • Commercially aware, ideally with knowledge of sales and marketing techniques
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and to achieve deadlines
  • You must be someone that is confident planning your own diary and knowing what it takes to be successful in a role like this
  • Customer focused with strong attention to detail
  • Highly personable and a desire to develop an understanding of the company's business and customers
  • Flexible and willing to work some evening and weekends with occasional travel (e.g. trade shows)

Territory area: West Country, South West, South East, Home Counties, West Midlands, East Midlands & Wales.

Hours: Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week inclusive of unpaid breaks. You will normally be required to work on the following days and hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week varying between 8am – 5pm (flexibility will be necessary for travelling).
Travelling plays a big part in this role. You may spend a degree of time on your own travelling between appointments. At times you may have to stay in overnight accommodation. This role is not always considered 9-5 as early morning starts and late finishes will sometimes be necessary.

Reporting: Expected to meet once/twice a month with the whole team to discuss new products, best practice, new ideas, sales updates and any concerns that you may have. Paperwork is expected to be completed whilst out in the field and reported in the evening to managers, this must include every sales appointment attended each day. Weekly catch-up meetings will be held with managers.

Training: We will offer training to contribute to your progressive development and to enable you to deliver a high standard of service to the customer.
Holidays: You are entitled to 5 weeks paid holiday per annum excluding UK bank holidays, which is equivalent to (and capped at) 25 days for a full-time employee working 5 days per week plus Bank/Public Holidays.

Commission: Uncapped commission structure
