Fancy a change from working in practice? Come and join our team!
Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue is seeking a Centre Assistant to join it's team caring for and rehoming homeless, abandoned and ill-treated dogs ait its Centre in Glencaple. We have two long-serving team members leaving to pursue different goals - our manager (a RVN who has been here almost 17 years) and an experienced team member who has served some of her 10 years here as deputy.
The Board of Directors feel that it is important to have someone on the team with a veterinary nursing qualification, to carry out health checks, ensure proper use and storage of drugs, carry out First Aid when necessary, triage cases to avoid unnecessary trips to the practice, advise and train other staff and volunteers in First Aid, barrier nursing and infection control, and all matters relating to health.
The role would suit someone who has a passion for dogs, wants to gain experience in behavioural rehabilitation, and is at a point in their career where they won't miss clinical nursing. We do not have an on-site vet but our vet visits one day a week, with staff transporting dogs to the surgery in between for routine ops and other issues when needed.
Feel free to give us a call on 01387 770210 or 01387 770242 to find out more about the job from any of our staff or email firstname.lastname@example.org to request a job description. Closing date 15 November
