A good understanding of this subject provides the background for many of your second year subjects. You will be especially glad that you have covered anatomy and physiology in depth once you come to study radiography and medical nursing.

It is essential to be able to use the correct terms and definitions when describing parts or functions of the body and it is the aim of this chapter to enable you to do so confidently.

It is suggested that you read Part I - Chapter 7 - An Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology prior to working through this chapter. In addition, the Hill's Atlas of Veterinary Clinical Anatomy is a valuable source of information with excellent diagrams.
