The position is based in Forres with occasional work at our branch surgeries including Nairn.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;MCVG is an independent, comprehensive, and well-equipped practice with in-house blood work, bronchoscope and gastroscope, Digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental x-ray, visiting CT &amp;amp; laser. You will work alongside Veterinary surgeons to provide of high standard of care on a range of small animals, providing both routine and emergency health care.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Nursing skills are fully utilised within the practice with opportunities for enhanced responsibility in areas of interest for example orthopaedic nursing, wound care, and lab work. Full time rota options include a 36-hour 4 day week or a 40-hour 5 day week, Part time rotas vary and can be discussed with candidates. Out of hours on call duties are shared pro rata, currently at a 1:14 week night and 1:7 split weekend basis.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Senior nursing duties include rota, daily schedule planning and problem solving. You will work alongside practice managers to maintain equipment and monitor servicing requirements. We are a popular training practice with a steady stream of students and you will be required to facilitate and support the training of students along side fellow clinical coaches and RVN&amp;rsquo;s.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We are a friendly practice; we have a great team who enjoy lots of outdoor activities and social events together. The Ideal candidate would be a motivated, organised, and positive team member.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;RCVS fees paid.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;CPD is encouraged and an allowance is provided.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;Our full-time RVNs have the option of working either:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;A 4-day / 36-hour week, with a fixed day off each week, or&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;A 5-day / 40-hour week&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;RVN Position&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Main duties and responsibilities:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Nursing of animals either hospitalised or in surgery to include pre and post op care&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Assisting with operations &amp;ndash; to include anaesthesia and scrubbing into operations&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Assist veterinary surgeons during consultations&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Liaising with the veterinary surgeon about inpatient care&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Laboratory work&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Radiography taking and processing&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Updating computer records.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Charging hospitalised patients and operations/ procedures.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Nurse consults- including post op checks, weigh and worms, discharging operations.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Advising clients in person or over the phone.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ensuring adequate supplies of stock&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Reception duties.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Laundry and general housekeeping of practice&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ensuring consult rooms are tidy, clean and adequately stocked.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Attaching lab reports to the patients file, charging and ensuring the veterinary surgeon is informed.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Packaging and sending of laboratory samples&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ensuring all dangerous drugs are locked in the safe and recorded in the dangerous drug book.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Looking after and maintaining equipment once trained.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Sharing out of hours duties as required&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Opening and closing premises securely&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Supervising work experience and student veterinary nurses&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Carrying out any responsibilities as instructed by the Senior Veterinary Nurse&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;We proudly provide our own out-of-hours care for inpatients, giving you the chance to follow cases through and build truly rewarding relationships with patients and clients. Our shared on-call rota is designed to be fair and manageable:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;Currently 1 weeknight every 3 weeks (around 14 - 16 nights per year currently)&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;Currently 1:7 weekends (around 7-8 per year)&amp;nbsp; &amp;ndash; either as the primary nurse (working Saturday and Sunday), or as backup (working Saturday and then back up on call for the rest of the weekend).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;Location for this role is mainly at Forres with occasional work at our Nairn branch.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;What We&amp;rsquo;re Offering - &amp;pound;30k Minimum salary&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;A salary of &amp;pound;30,027.59 to &amp;pound;34,617.64 (DOE/pro-rata)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;Any overtime from on-call is paid in addition&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;Choice of 4- or 5-day week&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 400;"&gt;6 weeks holiday allowance, increasing with length of service&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We were given a donation of 2ml syringes with 25g x1&amp;quot; needles attached. We don&amp;#39;t have a use for them, they are in sterile packaging but are out of date. I was wondering if anyone know of any charities or organisations which could make use of them? There are around 1600 of them.&lt;/p&gt;
