Midsomer Veterinary Centre is an independently owned small animal practice on the edge of the Mendips.

We are looking for enthusiastic colleagues to enhance our nursing care with long term prospects to grow your skills in a supportive team.

Whether you are interested in consultations, in-patient care and anaesthesia or performing Schedule 3 procedures we are happy to support you in an established practice with a strong client base. As a training practice we are happy to support less experienced colleagues or you could help with training others.

The position would suit a nurse or a combination of part-time colleagues. We are happy to discuss job-sharing and flexible working.

Out of hours care is outsourced but overnight in-patient care is offered.

We are a well-equipped single site practice with:

Newly upgraded DR X-ray and dental X-ray
Newly upgraded ultrasound with abdominal and Doppler cardiac abdominal probes
In-house IDEXX laboratory suite (Catalyst, Procyte, Sedivue)
Multiparameter monitoring with capnography

Midsomer Norton is a semi-rural town in Northeast Somerset, situated 40 minutes from Bristol and only 20 minutes from the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, with Roman Baths, theatres, music and comedy venues on hand. Midsomer Norton hosts its own music festivals but if you are looking for something bigger, Glastonbury Festival is nearby.

For those that like the outdoors, we are on the edge of the Mendip Hills, with fabulous walking, horse riding and world class climbing and caving just a few minutes away, including Cheddar Gorge and Fairy Cave. Vobster Quay diving centre is a 10-minute drive away if you like getting your feet wet, or if you prefer being up in the clouds, ballooning and gliding are nearby. With ready access to the South Coast, Devon and South Wales you will never run out of options. Train and motorway links to the rest of the country are easily accessible.

RVN or Student Veterinary Nurse

We are a small family owned, independent first opinion practice close to Bath, looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse or a second year Student Nurse. We are a friendly team of three Vets, two RVNs, an Animal Care Assistant and Reception team. RCVS accredited Small Animal Practice. No OOH's, occasional inpatient care.

1:4 Saturday mornings.

Procyte/Catalyst machine, digital x-ray with dental x-ray, ultrasound, Bair huggers etc. Annual CPD allowance. Scope for advancement and pursuing interests. Usual duties from anaesthesia to nurse consults. Full time position of 37 hours a week, part time applicants considered. Excellent rate of pay.

An exciting opportunity for an RVN to join our team in beautiful North Somerset

Close to Bath and Bristol, Midsomer Norton is a small but thriving town on the edge of the Mendip Hills.

Truly independent, Midsomer Veterinary Centre is a single site practice that prides itself on offering a caring, personal service to our clients and patients.

Our close knit team consists of two vets, two RVNs, two nursing assistants and two receptionists and we are looking to expand our nursing team.

Despite our small size, we have excellent facilities. Digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG and recently upgraded laboratory with Procyte. We have recently been awarded ISFM Cat Friendly status and continually strive to improve the care that we offer.

In addition to day patient and in-patient care, regular nursing clinics and puppy parties will give you lots of interaction with our clients and a varied caseload.
