Wood Farm Vets is an independent rural mixed general practice serving the South Norfolk and North Suffolk area. Housed in our beautiful Grade II listed barn conversion on a working farm on the outskirts of Wymondham, Norfolk, we mix the old with the new with all the modern kit, including our brand new fully portable DR x-ray. Our regular working hours are between 8am and 7pm Monday to Friday, with the surgery open to clients from 8:30am to 6:30pm. We provide our own OOH cover and hospitalisation facilities ensuring continuity of care.

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us for approximately 24 hours per week on a permanent basis, with additional hours for holiday cover available - the ability to cover some of these extra hours is ideal. The small animal & exotic and equine & farm animal nursing responsibilities are shared out equally between the members of the team, and we will encourage and support you to develop your own niche interests within your role. Our nurses participate in the 1-in-4 out-of-hours rota where double time is paid “door-to-door” for callouts; there are no OOH phone duties, and a retainer fee is paid if you don't get called out. As we offer home/yard/farm visits, a UK driving license and own transport is preferred. In return we’ll provide you with a salary in line with experience and SPVS guidelines - in the region of £12-£13ph.

We’re a bit of a friendly madhouse but genuinely one big family, where everyone mucks in and no one is above doing the tea run or picking up a mop! Our vets do some of the more interesting and advanced procedures for general practice e.g. cruciate repair and orthopaedics, skin grafts, equine eye enucleations, stem cell therapy, equine field GA, etc. We have fun and we work hard, are respected by our vets, and get to use our nursey superpowers most days.

For an informal chat to see if we might be right for you, please call me (Kate, Nursing Manager) on 01953 600837. To apply please email your CV and covering letter to nurses@woodfarmvets.co.uk
