What does everyone use for covering foam x-ray wedges ? I’ve been just washing them after use but hate them being covered in hair. I’ve tried sticky back plastic but it makes lines on the radiographs .

Thanks in advance for the ideas :)
Sophie

Are nurses using the old style badge, or do we have to buy a new one?

Moving on from my last question as I have now been restored onto the RVN register are nurses who have the old style badge using that badge or do we have to buy a new one

How many hours roughly would you expect a Fluorsorber to last?

How many hours roughly should a fluosorber last?, we dont seem to be getting many hours use out of it before its reached the max weight.
The black rubber mats on our exam tables ahve all gotten really sticky recently. It might be down to too-concentrated Anistel being used, we're not sure, but does anyone have any secret magic solutions to the stickiness before we replace them? They're older and stuck to the tabletops so just flipping them over isn't an option unfortunately.

Cheers!

Does anyone have ultrasonic cleaner instructions or an SOP?

We have a ultrasonic cleaner at work but we all use it on different settings, and as we now have two CSL students I would like us all to be using it correctly. One person heats it up the other doesn't, one does 6 mins, the other does 12. Does anyone have a SOP or instructions for one of these things as in over 20yrs this is the first practice that actually uses it. Thanks

Do you think this is offensive?

The latest DC hearing caught my eye. Overall, it seems fairly obvious that the vet nurse in question was bang to rights: she clearly pretended to be a vet, and some of her posts I think most people would judge to be, well, if not offensive then certainly inflammatory, unprofessional and not showing the profession in a good light.

Still, some of the comments that the DC objected to seem quite tame to me: https://www.vetnurse.co.uk/b/veterinary-nursing-news/posts/vet-nurse-removed-from-register-for-posing-as-vet-and-making-discriminatory-statements-on-social-media

I mean, the first two for example??? In fact, in Schedule 1, there are quite a few that I would judge as neither offensive nor impersonating a vet.

It's so subjective, I cant help feeling that regulating for 'offensive' is a very, very difficult area.

What do you think?
