Veterinary Nurse – “Twilight” Shift

Maternity Cover – 1 year

£18,734 - £20,989 (pro rata for 27.8hrs per week)

We require an RVN to join our 2 other twilight shift RVNs working 4pm-2am (4 nights on, 8 nights off*). The successful applicant will join a fantastic nursing team in providing a very high standard of nursing care and professionalism. This post will cover a maternity leave for the duration of 1 year, and requires exceptional organisational skills, the ability to work on one’s own initiative and also be an active member of the out-of-hours team. The post is a highly responsible one.

Working in a busy Teaching and Referral Small Animal Hospital, experience of and interest in working with Exotics & Wildlife and Intensive Care patients would be advantageous.

Only Qualified Veterinary Nurses, who are on the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons List of Registered Veterinary Nurses, should apply for this post.

*The 3 twilight nurses are expected to manage their rota and cover each other for holidays/absence to ensure the OOH service has continuous nursing support.

Veterinary Nurse – Weekend Support Shift

£18,734 - £20,989 (pro rata for 10hrs per week)

Contract Duration: 6 months

Due to an increasing workload, we are looking to recruit 2 additional weekend RVNs on a fixed term contract (6 months). You will work alternate weekends (Saturday & Sunday 8am-6pm) and will cover each other for holidays and other periods of absence

The Hospital for Small Animals is a very busy Teaching & Referral Hospital and we strive to achieve very high standards in patient care and teaching the next generation of Vets and Vet Nurses.

If you are a friendly and reliable RVN, believe in and uphold high standards and are interested in working weekends only, then we would like to hear from you. Whilst experience would be an advantage, due to the work involved, we would also be happy to hear from newly qualified RVNs who wish to build their knowledge and experience in a busy referral setting.

This post is graded as a UE04 as there will be more experienced (UE05) RVNs also on duty.

We currently have a vacancy for a confident and enthusiastic RVN, to join our team in providing a high standard of care to our clients and their pets. You will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, with 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota, and no out of hours. We are a busy two vet, two branch small animal practice based in Mansfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield. Duties include all aspects of Veterinary Nursing including surgical, nurse clinics and in-patient care.
