&lt;p&gt;actually no it wasnt only in America - I know of a vet still practising in this country&amp;nbsp; who used to carry out declawing and de barking&amp;nbsp; - an no he isnt American&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;These things don&amp;#39;t just happen in America and America is home to quite a lot of research and breakthrough medicine. Things like this happen here in the UK too. I know of a 18wk old puppy that had its back snapped by the family Puli. the pup was incontinent and had no use of it&amp;#39;s back legs. the vet suggested pts but the owners saw on tv about dogs with wheels so kept it at home with out treatment or rehabilitation and then bought it wheels and just put them on with out training. the dog runs round and barks at everything and is petrified of it&amp;#39;s owners and even runs from them. (i used to live across the road from them) they have to corner it to catch it.
