I've read that their eyes are open and get nystagmus and involuntary leg movements.
Just off to read some more.
Anyone dealt with goats in practice before?

Re: Goat anaesthesia

A bit late in the day, but I have a bit of experience with anaesthetising goats. We used ACP as a premed and propoflo to induce. The premed isnt very effective though!!

Re: Goat anaesthesia
Aww hope it goes well
I helped with some baby goats that we had to debud not that long ago. Used alfaxan (I think) for unduction and then iso/o2. They were really hard to keep asleep though and kept bleating! Was horrible!

Why??

We have a goat in today for a digital amputation. Our locum vet is into farm vet work

She's a very very cute goat though

Think we're going to use Ketamine and Diazepam

Re: Goat anaesthesia

we had some in recently for disbudding and we just gas them down with iso, then O2 via a mask. (they were small pigmy type goats, not big)

But they do bleat alot when recovering, lovely little things!
