I've been trying to get a placement in a training practice ready for when I start college in september but so far i've had no luck. The idea is that i attend college for three days a week and then placement for two, I've sent out a dozen letters

Re: Is there anything more I can do?

Try follow up calls to all the practices you sent your CV to. Once you are on the phone with the practice manager / head nurse, offer to do some voluntary work - weekdays would be best if your other commitments will allow.

Do you drive? I found getting my license helped too, as reliance on public transport is a no no if you are asked to do on call.

Do you have any work experience in veterinary practice yet? If not, do that first - it will look fab on your CV, and is pretty much an unwritten prerequisite to getting an SVN place!

Good Luck!
