Ages ago on the news there was a school who had a living gum sculpture. The pupils were encouraged to stick their gum on the sculpture so it would take shape and "grow" with the school. I loved this idea and the playground stopped being littered with dropped gum!!

I totally hear where you're coming from Caro, but there are a lot of people with medical problems not just manner problems that can't physically close their mouths when they chew. I learned this the hard way one day because i didn't stay quiet and actually asked someone if their gum tastes nice...because i sure sounded like it!!! lol... oh well live you learn!! I can't stand food smacking, but unfortunately some don't care!

Adding to chewing gum. I was in the psot office to get some reg. mail at 7am this morning. And so wanted to say to the woman waiting.

"Are you a cow as cows chew cud with their mouth open. Humans chew with their mouths shut. I find it is disgusting to share someone's meal with them makes me ill" I just turned and read posters behind me.

I had a friend who was riding a motorbike when someone threw a lit ciggy end out a car window and it ended up through his visor in his helmet.

Also a lot of the fires along country lanes near us are caused by disgarded ciggies. They should have something in the car to put them out and store em.

Oh yes SJ l agree and the term to note there is bin... NOT under table NOT under the the chair NOT some other "hidden" area the term and item to use is BIN

can i add in the annoyance of chewing gum, youv had it in your mouth for hours people can you not hold on a few more minutes till u reach a bin?

If anyone turns this into a smack at smokers l will jump up and down on their head snarling obscenities. l won't have my posts turned into hate threads. I was grumbling about smokers who drop stompies not smokers per se. In fact l picked lots of litter that was probably dropped by non smokers and someone summed it up litter in general and thats smokers and non smokers

My post wasnt aimed at smokers Sandra - after all, I am one myself

I was just talking about litter in general

Indeed, it is litter and should be classed as such. Not a nice job, I am sure Caro - especially for a non-smoker.

I am forever telling my boys NOT to through rubbish anywhere than in bins - they always put it in a bin, or hold on until we find a bin, however, nothing wrong with reinforcing the idea, is there?

the worst is when people driving are smoking and then throwing them out the window. really pisses me off. get an ashtray and live with the crap you are putting into your body, don't force it on nature!!!.
