Their neutered cat range is called aftercare and its very tastyt salmon & rice flavoured. I'm hoping to start selling this more by giving a small pack away with every neutering we do. The cats we've got on it love it!!

i feed my pets hills, 3 cats on light, senior and adult and a dog on senior. is there a price diff in hills / pro plan? my mate is asking me what to put her 6 month old kittens on as well but does not want to pay for either rcw/hills. do pro plan do neu cat range if not what should she feed as the male is already fat!! ( i am working on that with her).

Proplan all the way!! Hills are useless with us only seen a rep once in 3 years - she promised lots of things but then hasn't delivered on any of it!!

Support is great from Proplan, rep is great, food is great - nothing more to say!!

Would agree with all the comments above - we changed from Hills to ProPlan about 2 years ago and was the best thing we ever did. Greatly increased food sales and run loyalty scheme which keeps the clients coming back. Support is good and clients love the puppy & kitten free bags of food - 1.5kg & 3kg. Seem to have greater palatability on their prescription diets as well.

That is the same as my dog, on Hills as a puppy she had terrible collitis, I moved her from Hills to JWB which she has been fine on for the last 3+ years but since having the purina rep in and he left me a free bag of adult sensitive, I am definately gonna stick with purina......

My practice has been a Hills practice for at least 10 years but I still think we will change and I personally think it's a good thing, even though we have reccommended Hills to clients for years I think if we explain that as a practice we feel Purina is better and that we are always striving to bring the best products to our clients and continue to order Hills for clients that are not keen to change then the change over should be easy.....Well that's the theory anyway!

i feed my dog purina pro plan since a puppy love the stuff, he had diarr problems for months then moved him onto pro plan not had a problem since and hes 4yrs now. i want my practice to move over but they wont been with hills for years

I instigated the change from a combo of hills and RC to proplan at a previous practice and it was the best thing we ever did.

Like Stuart said the support from purina is excellent, we were given loads of goodies for our puppy party goody bags, really good deals for staff pet food. we had a couple of clients who wanted to stick to the RC diets they were already on so we just ordered in as and when for them but most were happy to change over and give the PVD's a go and have to say we only had 1 lot of food returned cos the cat wouldnt eat the wet OM but loved the dry

We done this, and in my option - it's the best move we made. The hills rep we had was rubbish, constantly shouting with the head nurse. The ProPlan rep done loads of work to help with the switch, we started with training the staff, receptions and nurses on ProPlan and the Nurses and vets on PVDs. The rep organised press releases and we mail shoted clients to tell them of the new food launch. There was a special intro offer of 33% off with a free blanket or cat bowl.. something like that. That was over a year ago now, and ProPlan have just introduced a new diet for senior dogs, I organised the rep (different rep than previous)... to retrain old staff, train new staff and promote the new senior diet. We launched this along side a buy 5 get one free offer across the entire range. (I even made my dog the face of this promo)... The reps (on both occassions) came in early the day of the launch and spent a couple of hours in the waiting room chatting to clients - not forcing sales - but encouraging good pet nutrition... answering lots of client questions that they wouldn't have otherwise thought of asking... As you can probably tell I'm pretty biased on the diet... I love what both Gemma started and Kerry is continuing... they like everything to be personal to the practice and have a huge range of free gifts and offers for the clients which the clients obviously love. We're giving away free car seat covers with any bags over 7kg at the minute. If you want any other info on what they do just PM me! xx
