I think it will show you are really serious about the job if you have prepared notes, I always make sure I have a list of questions aswell because there is nothing more uncormfortable then when you are asked if you have any questions and you just look blankly at them. Good luck with future interviews and I'm sure you'll find a training place soon.

Sounds good - not sure how your CV is set out, but maybe putting a few lines under each of your jobs with responsibilites, an idea of caseload in practice etc might make you stand out a bit too.

How about, as a edit to the above -
- I am looking forward to the challenge of further developing my skills into the role of SVN and building on/deepening/extending the thoretical knowlegde gained during my ANA qualification.
(delete as appropriate, couldn't decide which word sounded best)
- think this leaves a strong impression of you already having lots of skill, shows you are aware there is lots more learning to do and you are not a 'know it all' so open to their ways of doing things and also plays on the theory training of the ANA - which is a massive thing you have over 'unqualifed' nurses.

Good idea and also think about how you can not only do the job ( same as the other applicants) but also how you have excelled.

ie in my last job I was responsible for (I'm just making stuff up here...) stocking up the pharmacy. I realised there was a problem with some stock going out of date so developed and introduced a system of stock rotation to prevent this from happening again. Consequently, I was informed the practice had saved money on the drugs budget.

Yeah thats another option, I thaught about saying something like, im a commited member of a team, and i look forward to using my wide range of skills to the role of SVN, what do you all think?

As another suggestion - just thinking outside the box here - maybe you need to play up on exactly what experience you have - what tasks you were doing, what responsibilites you had etc etc. Maybe put more detail about what you actually did on your cv, and try to mention it more in interviews (I know this is sometimes difficult if the right questions don't get asked!).

Was just thinking that to me it sounds like you have lots of experience, and an ANA qualification should work in your favour...but maybe the interviews you have been to see ANAs as 'cleaners' (definitely NOT saying this is my opinion) and are considering other people who have been working as unqualified nurses as more experienced?

Again, just wanted to say that I don't want to start a RVN/VN/ANA/unqualified debate - don't want this post to get distracted - just thinking from another angle...

Keep doing what your doing and keep keen!

As an example, we have had over 70 applications for our job so far... so you are up against a massive number of people.

Don't forget, we haven't decided who we employ yet so don't rule us out yet!

P.S. Did you return the application form we sent? If not get it in asap, we are desperate to get someone in and sorted...

Sorry to hear your news. Do not be disheartened. Remember there is a lot of un-employment at the moment and you are competing against greater numbers. I would ask the interviewers for some in-depth and honest feedback and develop your interview skills from there.
