I know but i suppose it must be difficult when you have your own business and reputation to keep up.You would think havin your own business would have the perks of being able to delegate the workload!I would go insane!

That is a bit obsessive and can't be healthy! Love my job but like to be able to go home and relax and not constantly have work on the brain!

All these ortho surgeons seem to be work a holics!But if thats what makes you tick then so be it.

Can remember when we had the volcanic ash crisis my boss got stuck in florida for an extra week - not a problem you would think eh but hell no this was his worst poss nightmare of not being in control lol!Felt sorry for the nurses on that weekend when he got home as his appointments that were scheduled he ended up seeing and operating on at the weekend to make up for lost time haha!

Yes he is. He's a complete workaholic! He's pretty much on call all the time and very intense! He was very drunk at vet fest which was quite entertaining. At least he is passionate about what he does (although maybe a little bit too passionate sometimes)

That does sound strange that was why i was asking - iv no idea of the set up just curious as if was maybe similar to willows.He is a very intriguing man lol!

No they just have seniour nurses who are in charge of the anaesthetics. Oh I can understand why they are supervised but just seems a bit odd that for 10 weeks they have nothing to do with anaesthetics and then after that time they are deemed capable to do them. My friend is the one who said this is ridiculous.

Good luck for the interview! It really is an amazing place! I know my friend enjoys it and takes no crap off of Noel when he's shouting and being demanding. She is pretty scary though!

Its interesting as my boss has a reputation and when i went for my interview i was cacking myself - even though i like to think of myself as a very competent nurse.However having now worked where i am I couldnt ask for a better boss.He does have extremely high standards as does our other surgeon to but if you are committed to that and are a hard worker then great.But at the same time he is very fair, he listens and has a great work ethic (my own boss lol - not noel as i dont know him!)

Please try not to let other peoples opinion cloud your judgement when going for your interview.You need to remember whats important to you and how you percieve the situation to be and what your own opinion is.I would imagine things are a tad different to what is shown on tv.

Other nurses say the same to me to - dont you get bored looking at bones and the same thing every day!My answer.No. We have such a varied case load and the variety and type of fractures we see as well as the elective surgery.The satisfaction from nursing a spinal patient when it cant walk post op and then goes home walking, its immense and emotional too.

My friend from uni works there and so I was asking her all about it.

They don't allow nurses to monitor anaesthetics for the first 10 weeks and after that they need to be supervised by a senior nurse for a set time. However locum nurses can go straight in and do it! Bit strange if you ask me!

Is an amazing practice but I wouldn't want to work there simply because I think I would get bored with only neurological and orthopaedic cases. I like a good medical case.

i know, and agree, but have worked with worse and can give as good as i get, i spoke up to a boss once for belittling me, and he never did it again!! its a shame they are out there but until we stop it itll go on!!

he is not uncomfy in fron tof the camra as he has done alot of extra work in fils/tv shows. i knew a nurse who worked in a vets down the road from him many yrs ago before he became the big man andshe says in person he is rude, vulger and not a nice man to work for.
