I have searched high and low on the internet but am unable to find

Re: Autoclave maintanence

http://www.steris.com/international/en/d-060.cfm

Remember that these don't demonstrate a sterility assurance level of 10 -6 (-6 should be superscript!).

For routine use, use a Class 5 indicator which is "calibrated" to emulate the thermal deatch curve of Geobacillus stearothermophilus or a Class 6 indicator, such as TST strip which will demonstrate a sterility assurance level of 10 -6. No faffing about incubating either!

If you're testing efficiency, remember to use several indicators in different areas of the chamber and in a way that simulates the normal load, e.g in the centre of a stack of drapes.
