Thanks for your enquiry with Overseas Emigration; It would appear that both your occupations are on the schedule 4 list – this means that you would be eligible for a permanent visa if you are on any of the State lists.

I was offered a sponsorship with a practice and my boss hired an immigration lawyer and the whole process took over several months but they turned me down in the end because some new laws had come into play and it was at the time of the recession!! Boo! I am still looking into getting over there as another practice has offered sponsorship, so any news would be great :-) It's a shame we are not on the skills shortage list as I didn't struggle to find work and they love UK VN's as we are so much better trained, lets hope things in the immigration have changed :-)

Re: Australia

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skilled-workers/sbs/

On this site (i cant find it now) but vet nursing is on the list!!!!!

It is not the "skills" list so to speak, but on an extended business visa, which is 1day-4years providing you have a place of work (as i understand it) and costs in the region of £400!

This is all very exciting!!!

Re: Australia

we don't have enough points either as my hubby IS on the skills list but doesn't have a degree in his field!
