I was lucky as my husband was able to phone pretty much everyday and because of his job i could give parcels directly to my husbands work colleagues and they could organise it to be sent immediately so i could send him loads of goodies and he would recieve it the next day

Its a special letter that folds into an envelope thats issued to write to serving personnel. The ebluey is the same but you send it as an email....you can add pictures to it....and it gets printed off in the camp they are at. Someone then passes it on to your other half so they get it super fast, but dont write anything that you wouldnt want any one else to read!!!! Go to the British Forces Post Office website for more info. Sorry got to dash to work, anything else just ask me x

Re: military help needed

web address i put in my thread is what he said to look into but no luck so far

Re: military help needed

hes a marine, we havnt been together long, hes done 8months and 4 to go, im new to all this so dont really understand the ifs and buts of contacting, but just know its hard, whats blueys?? any advise from u guys will help me understand more, hes a captain, not sure if this holds any clout too,

Re: military help needed

[quote user="chip munk"]

I try and make sure I have something in my diary everyday to keep me busy and I've got some extra shifts at work coming up.My family's 1000's of miles away which makes it that more difficult. I think 1 of the hardest things I had to do before he went was attend a wives brief. They told us where are husbands are going and what to expect ie no contact from them. I also had to fill in forms nominating 2 family members to be contacted by the MoD if the worse happens which really upset me. He's a medic so he know's he's going to be kept busy. Your hubby will be taking over from mine.
we live together but aren't married, so i don't expect i'd get anything like a brief about it...keeping busy sounds good, and i've actually just handed my notice in so that i can move back home to be around friends/family - absolutely no chance i can do this without them, i know that much. hats off to you for managing!! it's not going to be easy is it i'm hoping a combination of keeping busy, sending lots of parcels regularly and avoiding the news might help....6 months though, just sounds so long!

My husbands currently in afghan and I've never heard of securewirelessconnections. I've asked other army wives and they havent heard of it either. If he's in the main camp he should have access to the phones there, as long as the minimiser isn't on. My husbands on the frontline so communication is difficult at the moment. When he did his tour of iraq in 2005/06 mobile phones were allowed so I got a text everyday but for obvious security reasons they are banned now.
