I am trying to stick my oar in as I know that when the training does start I will be taking on the main responsibility - I hope! I was playing with applications last week as Senior Nurse while the Head Nurse was off, so I do have a little input. Hoping to be in on interviews when they start too.

Once again thank you, it's so difficult when there are so many people after that one elusive position, but anything worth having is worth fighting for i suppose.

Anything that sets you apart from the 'I have a bunny' crew is positive! I have to admit, we are flooded with applicants but I am trying to put in a good word for those I know are keen so I will make sure I mention you to the head nurse and practice manager tomorrow... Good luck!

Thank you! Yes I have mentioned that I would be willing to move in my letter, I was a bit worried about my letter actually, it's a page long and I didn't want it to come across as harsh, if you get what I mean. It's just that I am serious about my future and didn't want to seem as though all I wanted was to play with fluffy bunnies all day. I'm a bit of a geek and love all the academic side of nursing as well.

I have applied for this job, it sounds like a fantastic opportunity, I live near wolverhampton but would be more than willing to move as it is only 20-30 minutes away. I have decided to change career, people nursing just isn't where my heart lies, but it isn't easy, no vets are allowing work experience due to insurance problems, I have literally written to every vet within about 20 miles, and more further away, still I am determined to do this and don't care how long it takes.

daft isn't it?
I'd love the job, have 4 years experience, an HND, but live too far away for on-calls etc.
I did work 160 miles from home and rented a room, making no money at all for 3 months while training (and it all came to nothing anyway!), but now I am the only breadwinner in the household I can no longer afford to take a place away from Kent (and there's none coming up in Kent).
Can you move your practice? LOL

Hope you get someone soon. When we had a trainee postion 2 years ago I was shocked by the lack of response from anyone other than people with no GCSEs! We finally got someone but she had to move to the area for the job, so if you have someone who lives a way away that may be an option if they have parents who could help them to rent a flat or room? Hope you find the right person X

I think, to be fair to you, being an hour and a half away would be too much for you. I have been in to an emergency caesarian at our Stourport branch today and it took me 20 minutes to get there and the vet was getting fidgety! We don't have a sofa bed or anything like that and it would worry me you doing that for your own mental wellbeing!

I don't have the final say for any of this however, if you want to write a covering letter and send your C.V. to Gail I am sure she will put you in the running, we haven't had the response I expected so far!

I would really like to apply for this but im about an hour and a half away from you, i am willing to do on call and out of hours, if there is a sofa bed available that wouldnt bother me as i love driving, i have funding and a place at bottle green to start in sept, if you would consider this please let me know and i will send my cv.

Really hoping we get some interest from here although you will need to be local to us, I hope to be the one training once Veterinary Nurse training starts!
