I am hoping to join a neutering trip (pref somewhere nice and sunny!!) this year. Someone very kindly gave me details a couple of months back of a guy called Ian (bit of a Father Ted fan if I remember right

Re: Neutering trips - advice please!

Hi Jules

Another British Blue fan eh? I lost mine 18mths ago but she will always be the best, even though I have 4 others! (Wouldn't say that in front of them though!)

I'm not sure whether Ian is still involved with the neutering trips or not as he now works full time for CP as their UK neutering manager type bod. I emailed him about something else about 2wks ago and haven't heard back so not even sure whether he's still on the same email address.

I'm off to Cyprus in a couple of months (see post under fundriaser in the off duty section) but this is not through an organisation, just sorted it myself through my own contacts I made out there as we plan to move over eventually and have been visiting regularly doing our research. Our trip will be more at shelters and in the community although am hoping to be able to arrange a day with a local vet via one of the charities so I can see what their facilities etc are like. They don't seem to have many organised trips out there as they use local practices rather than setting up mobile clinics like in other countries.

The Worldwide veterinary Service (www.wvs.org.uk) are always looking for VN's though and usually provide basic accommodation and you just pay for flights and food. On our trip, we've paid for accommodation ourselves as well as we intend to slot in the odd spot of holidaying too!

Let me know if you want to know anything else and feel free to email me at bonkerscatwoman@yahoo.co.uk

I feel I need a break as I have lost two of my dearest animal friends in the last few months and my fabulous, gentle 'Best Cat in the World' british blue Dennis (having recovered from pyothorax) has lymphoma. I'm devastated.
