packaging of medicines seems to be changing all the time- a lot of medication arrives with/in the suitable containers.

this is something i could get asked in the examinations. coloured flute bottles commonly used for topicals. does flute mean the shape? ribbed the same meaning? only thing that comes to my mind is the short brown plastic containers which arent typically used for topicals

Re: Dispensing bottles...

yes ribbed bottles were the original poison bottles - ribbed so they were easily distinguishable

I know i tried ordering some from nvs about 2 -3 years ago and were on backorder for ages. When i got fed up of waiting and rang them up I was told they were discontinued - but as i was told the same about other items i had ordered when they were on backorder and i then sourced them easily elsewhere who knows

Re: Dispensing bottles...

I'm pretty sure that bottles had to be ribbed igf they contained something that shouldn't be injested, in an attempt to help people who were partially sighted/blind & wouldn't be able to read any labelling...

However, using click-lock caps is a requirement now too, so whether that superceeds the need for ribbing too, I don't know?
