He spends an average of 6-8k/ year to keep upto date ...eeek ! He is fab ..I don't let anyone else near my pets teeth now for anything beyond a descale and polish...when you think about it it is like asking a GP to do your filling ..errr no thanks

Re: Human dentist treating animals

lol!
He is part of ZooDent, set up by him and one of the vets at IZVG who does the anaesthetics for him. The go all over the country and round the world. We have him at our place every two months or so. He is legit :)

[/quote]

I didn't mean he wasn't legit

I think it is fabulous that disciplines such as veterinary medicine & dentistry can 'cross over' - each helping the other to learn more, and ultimatley for the benefit of the patient.

I was really just wondering about the VS Act, and how it BECOMES legit for a dentist to start treating animals- if that makes sense?

Re: Human dentist treating animals

He is part of ZooDent, set up by him and one of the vets at IZVG who does the anaesthetics for him.
i haven't read the story but isn't that allowed under the act if they're asked to treat an animal by a vet?
