Hiya, sorry for the late posting, only read this today, Im at home recovering from having a cyst in my groin removed!!!!, 2nd one in 18 months, I have also got a small cyst on my labia majora that i have been told is bartholian and it will go away on its own, not to frighten you but ive got a skin condition called {not sure if this is spelt properly} HYDRODGENITIS SUPPRITIVRA I get lumps under both arms which wen they first came up scared the hell out of me, and in my groin on both sides. flucloxacilin helped to reduce them, also azithromycin. My Dermatologist thinks this is linked to my PCOS, see gynaecologist on 10th August. If you dont get any joy with gynae, try a dermatologist. Saw doctor today-had a heck of a wait!

Says its poss cyst is filling up a bit, so have to see how it goes............poss if doesnt resolve I will be refered..............

Hi- have resheduled my follow up appointment with another doctor.

Also earlier today my cyst burst- the relief is immense!

I went that route and ended up getting fed pills and 'ideas' until i stuck to my guns and got ballsy. i flat out asked for a referral. didn't even let them get a word in edgewise.

I think she should finish out the course of the antibiotic given by the doctor and then speak to them if still no result. It's only been 4 days. Cysts and boils tend to get worse before they get better and if she's on antibiotics already it will definitely get worse before it gets better until she finishes the whole course. If still no result after that then ask for a referral. if the gp knows it's a Bartholian cyst that's the first step in the right direction, as they are sometimes misdiagnosed.

I agree with what you are saying Steph, I mean when she goes back to the doctor on wednesday, it would be a good idea to see another GP within the practice if the other one made her feel uncomfortable and wasnt very forthcoming with his information.

I think I would just go back and press for a referral! a gynecologist is who she needs to see and the sooner she asks for a referral the better. Any GP can give a referral.

hot rag with tea tree oil in the water. I usually stand by the sink fill it up with water as hot as i can take and put a few drops of tea tree oil in. then put the rag down below. it's a bit overwhelming but it feels better after. I didn't like doing the hot bath as it would usually give me cystitis which just made matters worse for me but i'm a sensitive creature! lol

It feels bloody sore today,I want to lance it myself but I know thats prob not the best idea.

I wish Id pressed the g.p for more info but he wasnt exactly easy to converse with, distinctly lacking a bedside manner!

Got appt to go back to see him on weds- in a dilemma, do I go back to see him (as hes seen me already) or do I try and see someone else in the hope they are more helpfully and open?

My period is overdue and I feel super rubbish!

poor you, if it makes you feel any better I had a pilonidal cyst at the beginning of the year which turned into one of the most painful things I've ever experienced... ever!

I lanced it myself I was in so much agony at the time OUCH! It's only a matter of time before it flares up again I reckon.

Don't feel that way it's perfectly natural and nothing you should feel is your own fault or unhygienic. But i know it feels awful and really uncomfortable. they can be drained or removed as far as i know. but having it drained will not be pleasant. i had one of my bumps drained from my labia minor, as you can imagine a large pus filled bump on one of the most nerve filled parts of your body didn't feel very nice to begin with, to then have a doctor put a 21G needle in it to take a FNA i was not a happy bunny. :( especially when the results came back inconclusive. it did however help it to drain and feel a lot better later! the cream i've been using has been helping but the side effects of prolonged use of the steroid cream has shrunk the size of my labia minor. looks a little weird. :( the pain puts me off more than the idea of them down there. for a while i thought i was diseased. but it's all hormonal for me :(

I was told i possibly had one of those but it turned out being a blocked gland. i get a lot of them all over my labia minora, usually just before or after my period. i use an antibiotic cream with a steroid in it. helps keep them at bay. :( they really make me feel horrible and broken, they've also totally ruined my sex life. I'm hoping weight loss and getting my PCOS under control will help. Hope yours gets sorted i know it's very uncomfortable having something down there :(
