I used a case i nursed (it can be either surgical or medical) and how i adapted the care plan to suit their needs and how it changed/ progressed with the patient. U can get a lot of info on care plans from the human nursing world as they have a lot of research on different care plans.

Re: Diploma!

[quote user="Samantha Bell BSc(Hons) VNS RVN VNA MBVNA"]

I have just recieved my application pack with the same question as you and have not got a clue as to where to start? How do you make the link between the surgical or medical case and the title?

I'm a bit confused and don't want to start going down the wrong line.

Any help from anyone would be great

working a case (e.g. medical) and working out a care plan, giving the best possible care, developing ideas within the veterinary team regarding the care- trying new approaches and assessing their success/failure and analysing why they succeeded/failed and whether good techniques could be applied to other patients in similar circumstances or if it has to be on a case by case basis. how the patient always remains the centre of focus rather than a patient with a disease/condition.

So maybe a dachshund with spinal probs could have physio and grooming done out in the garden as part of mental stimulation but this would obviously not be suitable for all animals- cats might be difficult to control outdoors and some dogs might refuse to sit still when outside despite their problems and get more agitated by not being able to enjoy the outdoors environment

Sorry, it's a bit of waffle...

Re: Diploma!

Hi all.... could really do with your suggestions of how to answer this...
