In practice if the vet tells the unqualified to do something it is under their guidance and therefore it is down to the vet if something goes wrong whereas in this situation I guess they're both at fault.

anybody can call themselves a veterinary nurse - the title isnt protected which is why the petition to protect the title came about. The point I was trying to make (badly) is that according to this article it is an offence to pose as a qualified nurse and carry out procedures in contravention of the VSA. Now I know this lady has done wrong and I dont condone that at all but how many 'veterinary nurses' are out there who are not actually qualified veterinary nurses at all AND are carrying out procedures which they shouldnt be according to the VSA? - arent the public being duped in the same way? ie -how is it ok to say that this lady has committed an offence when similar goes on in some legitimate practices every day? or maybe its just me.

and just to repeat what I said earlier before I get the hate mail - I have absolutely nothing against unqualifieds who sometimes have years of experience behind them, my problem is with people or practices who make themselves out to be what they arent and the system that allows this to happen
