had a client bring in a baby pig today, found it laid in the middle of her lawn very lethargic. she gave it a little cat food, which it ate and brought her straight in. she was quite floppy when she came in and also dehydrated

Re: hedgehog seizures??

[quote user="albatross"]

i have seen this lots, they lick environment and then spread saliva over spines- acts as like a memory taste so they know what is familiar. it does look very strange but this pig was def not doing that

Re: hedgehog seizures??

could it have eaten slug pellets, or slugs which have recently eaten them?

Its not necessarily a bad thing more of an adaptation to new places. The only hedgehog I've seen with seizures also had a head tilt/nystagmus so more than likely head trauma.
