We found out last Christmas that reception were keeping the chocolates for themselves... as well as some goodies from reps like notebooks and pen torches! we found a huge stash of them......especially when the client has addressed it to all staff.....really annoying! When confronted they said they were saing them up to put one a month in the staff room.....shame some of them were open already!

Our practice shares all our goodies, although we had a client who brought in two boxes of cookies from a cake shop and the locum vet took a whole box home for himself, so there wasnt enough to go around and people had to go without :(

we used to eat loads of goodies then the staff complained we were all being piggies. so we decided to raffle ticket everything and each person pulled a ticket out of a hat. then people complained that they didn't like what they had got so they wantd to swap. then we said why don't we keep some to ourselves and give the rest to the local charity/ hospice and there was uproar about that too....story is....not everyone will be happy.

i do agree tho that the vets shouldn't hog everything to themselves. maybe a quiet word about how no clients have been bringing in treats recently might make them realise without you having a confrontation?

One practice I worked at saved the chocs until there was enough boxes for each member of staff and then we had a tombola.

Another practice hid the chocs around the practice and we would have to hunt them down.

Have worked at a few practices where the choc's would go missing so a few of us hid them so everyone got a share

Leave some small cakes out and ensure they are dusted with something nasty like chilli powder or salt. I would say bake some with that in and salt not sugar but my cooking skills are not up to that.

We get lots of chocs and biscuits as thankyou pressies. Our boss has a sweet tooth and always makes sure there are lots of biscuits in the kitchen.

If we have too many , we put them on reception for the clients to help thereselves. Its good PR

One of our clients baked us a lovely cake.........nobody got any of it as we left it in the kitchen area and one of the dogs belonging to the vet got there first

We share everyting here, the boss is generally only allowed cake if his wifre (the other boss) isnt around lol. One of our vets has a bit of a sweet tooth so we have to watch her some times,

only things like bottles of wine arnt shared here. Spud i would have a word with the management (if they are nice enough) and say that ya are not happy about all the tasty things going missing and you demand sweets at break times

i have been told that last yr they saved them all at x mas and gave them to the staff as presents. it is little things like this that make a team get all dishartened and makes a divide between them and us.

Thats bang out of order, have a word!!

We share all of ours. At xmas we get so much that we have to raffle it off between ourselves. We still have a few boxes left from xmas! When i worked on reception at our hospital wewould take the presents thru to the prep room and we never got anything, even if the client said it was for us too!

reception steal all ours, clients bring stuff in and leave it at reception and unless it is wrapped with a particular person's name on it it stays there and we see none of it!!

I'd buy a small packet of cakes and let them eat them, then ask where they have gone, if no one owns up just casually say... 'oh well good riddence to the person who has nicked them as I licked them all anyway!!'... just wait for the look of horror on the face of the person who has scoffed em haha

(that used to happen a lot at a practice I used to work at)

that is totally s**t!! we always share everything, from clients and reps, love all the chocolate we get from vetdirect usually two bars each with spares only things we don't share out is if a client brings something like a bottle for a particular vet, but chocs/biscuits/cakes etc are all left in staff room for us to help ourselves.
