I work for Molar Ltd who distributes ProDen PlaqueOff and noticed some of the comments relating to your concerns about using PlaqueOff due to the content of Iodine and studies conducted.

I can confirm that we do have clinical data from trials conducted last year and would be more than happy to post this data out all that would like it, just phone the office.

the issue raised about hyperthyroidism is correct. Seaweed does naturally contain iodine and may cause problems for animals being treated for over-active thyroids. I would, however, say that the iodine in the seaweed is organic and the quantity of the seaweed digested is very small, but would still advise to not use the product in hyperthyroid cases. We would also not recommend using on pregnant or lactating animals purely due to the fact that there have been no studies done for obvious reasons.

I definately agree that a toothbrush is the best means of plaque control, however this is not always possible, sometimes in cases of rescued animals or for the reason that, like humans, some pets are just more prone to plaque build-up. PlaqueOff is a lovely natural alternative for cases such as these and has shown some fantastic results.

Please get in contact if you have any further queries about the product.

Em
